Robin sketch

This is my little tutorial on my sketch challenge entry over at Ten Ton Studios.

First thing I did was sketch up this. It was quick and I got the idea off of a photo of a model or something I found on the internet. I don't remember what it was, but I saw it on the internet at work. Anyhow, I didn't think much of it at the time. It began to grow on me and later I added the buildings.

Next I cleaned it up and added a lot. I like the shading in pencil, but didn't think they might work with inks.

The inks were done Steev style (Ten Ton Member and friend) and I left some stuff out and added some details. I think they turned out ok, but the pencils do have a certain style that looks cool.

The grey added. This is my second attempt. I didn't like the first attempt, because the sky, so I did them again.

Finally, I added the logo, which I referenced from a cover I found on the internet while I was at work.

Finished Mr. Freeze

I finished it, but I wish I had more time to work on the frozen people. I would have colored them too. It didn't turn out too bad, though.

Mr. Freeze

Here is a work in progress I did last night. I'm coloring it next and posting it in the Ten Ton challenge.

Nothing new, but soon

I'm working on this new page. It's a script by Michael Bendis. A friend sent it to me when he went to the NY con this last month. We're doing a little contest to see which is told the best-one friend is doing it with us. I'll be posting each page one at a time here. The first page is a two page spread so it has taken me a few days to finish it. I should be finished by tomorrow or the next day.

Asajj

Here is a quick sketch I did for another Ten Ton challenge. I had a few references for her closes. I'm hoping to do another one, but I may not have time.

Cage redesigned

I've been playing with gray Prismacolor markers and I did my first piece for a sketch challenge over at Ten Ton Studios. You can see others and vote there here: Ten Ton Sketch Challenge

My process was pretty simple. I sketched out some designs and the first one I came up with was this. I didn't reference anything but his face and I used some actor's photo on the internet. I don't really know what style this is, but it is kind of rough and then I just inked Cage with a number two brush and the background I added later with art pens.

The gray, as I stated above, is Prismacolor and this would be my first try. I think I can do better, but the depth is not bad and I like how it turned out. I'll get used to grays before I go with color, but this is something I'd like to continue to do.
